Jandhyala Papayya Sastry is an eminent Telugu Writer and Lyrist. He was popularly known as Karunasri. He is a famous Poet and very good speaker. His popular writings “Pushpavilapam”, Udayasree, Karuna sree and Vijaya sree.

He was born in Kopparru village of Pedanandipadu Mandal in Guntur District on 4th August 1912.After primary and middle school education, he has learnt Sanskrit kavyas from Bhamidipati Subramanya Sharma and Kuppa Anjaneya Sastry. After completing Ubhaya Bhasha Praveena he has worked in Ramakrishna Vidyapeetham, Amaravathi, Stall Girls High School, Guntur. He has worked as Telugu lecturer for 20 years in Andhra Christian College, Guntur. He used to recite poems so expressively.
He wrote about 76 works. He saw the plight of a scavenger girl and wrote Paaki Pilla (1928) at the age of 16 years. His other works are Omar Khayyam, Aruna Kiranalu, Telugu Baala and Kalyana Kalpavalli. Karunasri was born out of his stream of his thoughts when he visited rare Buddhist sculpture, Maha Chaitya and pillars at Amaravati. His Pushpavilapam was born out of his anger towards a visitor, who began eating the petals of a rose from the flower vase on the table, while the poet had been in his prayer room. His compositions are timeless, they move the soul. The language is very simple and any common man with basic understanding of the Telugu language can easily understand the depth of his expression. Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao rendered his Pushpa Vilapam and Kunti Kumari. The lyrics and Ghantasala's voice really makes one cry with pity.
He has acted as Mukku Timmana without make-up in Bhuvana Vijayam during Ugadi celebrations. He is married to Anasuyamma. They had two sons and a daughter.

Vikram is an Indian film actor, voice actor and a playback singer. He made his debut in the 1990 film En Kadhal Kanmani, which was followed by a series of low-budget Tamil and Telugu films and supporting roles in some high budget Malayalam films throughout the early decade. After the critical and commercial success of Sethu (1999) he has been part of numerous other commercially successful films and has earned major critical acclaim for many of his performances. During his years in the Indian film industry, he has won three Filmfare Awards as well as India's most prestigious National Film Award for Best Actor once. He is called popularly as "Chiyaan" Vikram by his fans.

While some of Vikram's best-known films, Dhill (2001), Gemini (2002), Dhool (2003), Saamy (2003), Anniyan (2005) and Kanthaswamy (2009)[1] remain some of Tamil cinema's biggest hits, performances in films like Sethu (1999), Kasi (2002), Pithamagan (2003), Anniyan (2005) and Raavanan (2010) have won him critical acclaims and awards, making Vikram one of the more successful actors of Tamil cinema, both critically and commercially. He established himself as one of leading contemporary actor in the film industry. He was awarded an honorary doctorate by a foreign university recently.

Lokpal vs Jan Lokpal

As noted social activist Anna Hazare started his fast-unto-death in the national capital, there is a need to take a look at his draft Jan Lokpal bill and the government's Lokpal Bill.

The government proposes to set up Lokpal to check corruption at high places and salvage its image.

But there are stark differences between the government's version of the Lokpal Bill and the civil society's. The government Bill, actually, seems to be toothless.

Government's Lokpal will not have any power to either initiate action suo motu in any case or even receive complaints of corruption from public.

The Jan Lokpal proposes full powers to initiate investigations suo motu in any case and also to directly entertain complaints from the public.

The government wants Lokpal to be an advisory body, which will only forward its enquiry report to the competent authority for action.

The Jan Lokpal Bill proposes powers to initiate prosecution after completion of investigations.

The government's Lokpal will not have any police powers and it will not be able to register an FIR. The Jan Lokpal proposes police powers and would be able to register FIR, proceed with criminal investigations and launch prosecution.

The government's Lokpal won't have powers to investigate any case against PM, which deals with foreign affairs, security and defence. But the Jan Lokpal Bill proposes no such bar on Lokpal's powers.

The government's Lokpal will not have jurisdiction over bureaucrats and government officers. The Jan Lokpal will have jurisdiction over politicians, officials and even judges. It also proposes merging the entire vigilance machinery into Lokpal.

Who is Anna Hazare ?

Kisan Bapat Baburao Hazare (Marathi: किसन बापट बाबुराव हजारे) (born 15 January 1940), popularly known as Anna Hazare (Marathi: अण्णा हजारे), is an Indian social activist who is especially recognized for his contribution to the development of Ralegan Siddhi, a village in Parner taluka of Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra, India and his efforts for establishing it as a model village, for which he was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 1992.
On 5 April 2011, Hazare started a 'fast unto death' to exert pressure on the Government of India to enact a strong anti-corruption act as envisaged in the Jan Lokpal Bill, a law that will establish a Lokpal (ombudsman) that will have the power to deal with corruption in public offices. The fast led to nation wide protests in support of Hazare. The fast ended on 9 April 2011. All of his demands of the movement are agreed by the Government of India and Government issued a gazette notification on formation of a joint committee headed by senior minister Pranab Mukherjee to draft an effective Lokpal Bill.[1][2]
Early life
Anna Hazare was born on 15 January 1940 in a small village, Bhingar, near Ahmednagar city in India. Anna's father Baburao Hazare worked as an unskilled labourer in Ayurveda Ashram Pharmacy. Anna's grandfather was in the army and was posted at Bhingar when Anna was born. He died in 1945 but Anna's father continued to stay at Bhingar. In 1952 Anna's father resigned from his job and returned to his own village, Ralegan Siddhi. At that time Anna had completed his education upto 4th standard and had six younger siblings. It was with great difficulty that Anna's father could make two ends meet. Anna's aunt (father's sister) took Anna to Mumbai. She was childless and she offered to look after him and his education.
Anna studied upto the 7th standard in Mumbai. He took up a job after the 7th standard in consideration of the economic situation back home. Anna's father at Ralegan had to work as a daily wage labourer and found it difficult to sustain his family. He was slipping deeper and deeper into debt. He had to sell off one part of his land and mortgage the other. Anna started selling flowers at Dadar in order to make his living. But Anna's working at somebody's shop for 40 a month was not enough. After gaining some experience, he started his own shop and even brought two of his brothers to Mumbai. Gradually Anna's income went up to 700 to 800 per month.
In a couple of years Anna fell into bad company and started wasting his time and money on vices. He also started getting involved in brawls and fights, especially when he found some simple person being harassed by goondas. He became irregular in sending money to his family. The word went around in Ralegan that he had become a bad character himself. In one such fight, Anna bashed up a person rather badly. Fearing arrest, he avoided coming to his regular work and residence for some time. During this period (in April 1960) he appeared in Army recruitment interviews and was selected to join the Indian Army.[3][4]

In the Indian Army
Anna Hazare started his career as a driver in the Indian Army. He spent his spare time reading the books of Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi and Acharya Vinoba Bhave that inspired him to become a social worker and activist.[4] During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, he was the only survivor in a border exchange of fire, while driving a truck.[5] During the mid-1970s he was again involved in a road accident while driving.[6]

• 2008 - On 15 April 2008, Anna Hazare received the World Bank's 2008 Jit Gill Memorial Award for Outstanding Public Service: "Hazare created a thriving model village in Ralegan Siddhi, in the impoverished Ahmednagar region of Maharashtra state, and championed the right to information and the fight against corruption." [47]

• 1990 - Padmashri award, by the Government of India
• 1989 - Krishi Bhushana award by the Government of Maharashtra.
• 1986 - Indira Priyadarshini Vrikshamitra award by the Government of India on 19 November 1986 from the hands of Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi.
Felicitations: He was felicitated by the Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation on 15 January 1987 and by the Pune Municipal Corporation also.

H1N1 FLU :Stages of symptoms

I agree with you that swine flu awareness is needed, but there is no need to be panicky and join the publicity propaganda carried out by media and others which acts as a vehicle to spread misconception than to spread scientific information.

These are few facts about swine flu when discussed with the leading epidemiologists.

1) Swine flu, that is H1N1 flu is not new, first detected in 1987
2) Infective stage of flue is 5 days, 1 day before and 4 days after onset of symptoms
3) The best way to prevent it spreading is asking patient having symptoms of flu like fever cough and running nose to take rest at home for 4 days so he does not transmit it
4) Masks are of limited value if any, in this disease, it can spread through droplets on your skin, through contact etc, and I have seen that the masks in Pune are worn as fashion statement, while walking on road today morning I saw people wearing masks coming out for a morning walk with their dogs!, many wearing masks around their necks, and so on, infact these masks shall act as the vehicles to carry the virus, instead, avoiding crowded places or cinema halls or malls where airconditioners are on, is advisable, because you get recirculated air, where the virus density multiplies
5)Death after H1N1 flu is not common, infact infections like measles is taking toll of thousands more every year, and we are oblivious of the facts. Swine flu is being blown out of proportion by media trying to create hysteria among lay people.
6) Fever accompanied by respiratory distress, should be immediately notified which is likely to be a complication of H1N1 flu
7)The mortality is less than .01 percent of those affected, that means may be one in 10,000 affected is likely to suffer the life loss.
8) If you remember, 2 years ago SARS was blown out of proportion, what happened? Humans develop immunity to the virus, the same is going to happen, we develop immunity in due course of time, the virus is in the air, you can not stop it, our body is already developing the immunity so nothing to panic.
We need to take care of children and elderly who have less immunity and do not let them go to crowded places that is all .

WE MUST START THIS CAMPAIGN OF NOT TO BE AFRAID OF THIS FLU AND LET YOUR DAILY WORK CONTINUE AS NORMAL, NO MASKS FOR ORDINARY CITIZENS, HEALTH CARE WORKERS OR SPECIFIC EXPOSED TO LOT OF CROWDED ENVIRONMENTS MAY BE BENEFITTED, NOT PROVEN.

I am amazed to hear that people are selling masks of RS 20 each which are available to less than Rupee 1 in the market.

He is a typical case of those people who rose to stardom in a quick pace and quicker than than get themselves into trouble. We already have many living examples all around us. Celebrities who could not handle their success in a wisely manner.

I think the answer to this question lies in differentiating between two attributes which are popularity and wisdom or intelligence, and they have no relation to each other. The presence of one does not guarantees the existence of other. We assume that popularpeople are intelligent and wise people, but this is far from truth. Most of us understand popularity but rarely we do appreciate the existence of wisdom. Popularity is thrilling and quickly visible. Wisdom is subtle and shows in long term. If we put a analogy in terms of economy, than popularity is revenue and wisdom is controlling your expenses. Popularity is glitzing marketing and wisdom is hard fought battle in terms of operating efficiency and effectiveness. In the long term, it's wisdom which decides the quantity and quality of popularity, which in terms of quantity and quality of revenue. It's easy to become popular. You can become popular by jumping over Eiffel tower but is there an element of wisdom in it. In reality shows, now a days we see many artist becoming popular overnight but how many of them are able to sustain it. In the longer term, one see that it's the wisdom which carries them forward. In fact, many times one sees the looser in these reality shows faring much better than the winners. And together Popularity and Wisdom defined the success.We all understand popularity but very few appreciate the wisdom. So let's understand what are the important elements of wisdom which each one of us should try to inculcate, no matter we are popular or not.

Financial wisdom : This is one thing which hurt most of the people in our society. Living beyond our means and then getting trapped into a vicious circle of debt is very common phenomena in our neighborhood. One should understand your inflow and outflow even if you do not understand the complex jargons of finances. No need even to understand.
Just understandyour inflow and outflow and always try to maximize your inflow and minimize your outflow. It does not means live like a pauper but it also does not means that keep spending like you have infinite money. Our society still lacks in teaching the financial wisdom as part of school curriculum. I think this is even more important than Science. With right financial wisdom, even the gap of rich and poor will be narrowed. The super rich and super poor are the result of financial wisdom or lack of it.

Strong Value System : Quick money and popularity brings more opportunistic people near you and they tend to corrupt. Most of the falls of celebrities can be attributed to this phenomena. As they get success, opportunism starts building around them. The celebrities are given the perception that they are super human and can change anything in the world, which builds unnecessary expectations in them. This leads to tension and eventual trapping into drugs. This further leads to unstable thought process and results in activities which are unwarranted. Once trapped in this circle it becomes difficult to get out, as the people around you, most of them, will not let it happen. A philosopher or guide, who has little interest in your material success should be able to guide but please listen to them. It can be parents or friend who one thinks were wisepeople, even before the popularity came. Most of the success people with durability are those who are humble, down to earth and understand their limitations as a human.

Taking care of above points would help in building a durable success and we could have seen MJ for longer.

RBI is ready to issue a new bimetallic 10 Rupee coin for circulation.

The look: The obverse side has the lion capitol with numeral 10 and year of manufacture. On reverse side, a double line cross with a dot in each pellet of cross and denomination written in Hindi and English around. This design has been prepared by National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad with the theme of Unity in Diversity. The outer side metal is Nickel-Bronze and the inner side metal is Ferrous Steel. The weight of the coin would be 8 grams and the diameter would be 28 mm.
The coins are being minted at mainly Noida and Mumbai mint. The coins worth Rs.70 million was already stored in its stock till August 2008.
